Olof Rolandsson

Olof was born in 2002 in Kungsbacka, Sweden, and grew up with a family that all loves music. He played a lot of orchestra at a young age, which made him fall in love with making music together with people.

After studying music in high school, he started at the Royal College of Stockholm for a Bachelor’s degree in horn with Björn Olsson as teacher. There, he quickly established himself as a freelancer, having appeared in the professional orchestras in and around Stockholm.

With an exchange year in Hannover, he also studied with Prof. Markus Maskunitty and has worked with many guest lecturers such as Prof. Marie-Louise Neunecker, Frøydis Ree Wekre, and Prof. Adrian Diaz during his studies.

Due to the desire to play together with likeminded people, Olof has also appeared in international youth orchestras on a variety of positions, displaying the breadth of his playing. Both as solo horn and co-principal in the renowned Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra and tutti horn in Ungdomssymfonikerne in Norway.

Today, Olof is living in Stockholm, finishing his master’s degree under Björn Olsson. Combining the studies with playing in BrassUnit and freelancing across Sweden.
