Samuel liebhäuser

The trumpeter Samuel Liebhäuser has been studying at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre in Matthias Höfs’s class since 2022.

Having grown up in Stuttgart, he received his first trumpet lessons at the local music school. He gained orchestral experience at an early age with the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra and the German National Youth Orchestra. Several first prizes at the ‘Jugend musiziert’ competition highlight his musical development.

Alongside his training on the modern trumpet, Samuel Liebhäuser is deeply engaged with historical performance practice. He has already performed on a tour with the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra alongside his teacher on the natural trumpet, Moritz Görg.

Furthermore, Samuel Liebhäuser regularly performs as a guest musician with renowned orchestras, including the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Bremen Philharmonic, the Stuttgart State Orchestra, the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra.

Since 2026, he has been a member of the Swedish brass quintet BrassUnit.
